Give an example of a situation that shows a strong correlation and has one or more extraneous variables present. Explain how any of these variables could affect either the independent or dependent variable.

Strong correlation means there is change in one variable , there must be change in another variable. Change may be Positive direction or negative direction. If positive then it is Positive correlation and if negative then it is negative correlation.

Example: Let us take two variable , one is income of person and another is demand. If income increase then demand also increase. This is example of strong correlation but there is some extraneous variable like as price of other similar commodities. family size, supply chain and some other facor are also responsible for change in demand. So these variables are extraneous varibale.
