Identify the most obvious individual motivational problems experienced by Jing, Mahonney and Tanney. Conflict is inevitable especially to teams working together due to contrasting ideas. There is need for the team leader to manage the conflict so as to avoid further consequences. Denson as the team leader should have to acknowledge the existence of the conflict and made efforts to avoid the destructive behaviors such as complains from the team members.

Specific task leadership activity mainly focuses on completing a job through concentration of the tasks that have to be done. The leaders emphasize on creating a detailed plan and schedules, prioritizing of goals, reviewing tasks to ensure the project is on track, set and stick to the tight schedules for all aspects of the project as well as review of all the elements of the project with the employees. Specific maintenance activity on the other hand takes care of the coordination of the work activities, management of administrative chores, and preparing financial outlooks and reports. The leaders are responsible for making decisions and setting goals such as employee training. Disruptive employee behaviors usually create negative work environments and leads to unhealthy consequences for other employees. Bullying of the employees leads to high levels of job stress, less job commitment, and high levels of anger and anxiety which should be discouraged.

The most obvious individual motivational problems experienced by Jing, Mahonney, and Tanney towards attaining the goals of west coast airline are as follows. Tanney has counselling session and family objectives to achieve with the limited time to work towards the organizations goals. Jing has only one month to work then transferred to another department in addition to her contentious nature. Mahonney on the other hand is determined to achieve the organization goals based on individual capabilities. He has a perspective that the members have been selected to work on this project because the organization feels we are the only ones who can make this happen. The best motivation to be used by Denson to each member is as follows; Jing should be motivated based on the Hierarchy of Needs theory so as to attain self-actualization by being assigned to high level tasks, especially in other departments. Tanney should be motivated using Two Factory theory through satisfaction such as achievement, recognition and advancement, while those causing dissatisfaction include work conditions, salary and peer relationships. Mahonney on the other hand should be motivated using the traditional motivational theory based on his desire to attain additional compensation, a yearning to achieve status and power
