Pedigree

Pedigree is the chart which represents the data of traits or characters which runs in family or generation. Using pedigree data it is possible to determine if the trait is autosomal/sex linked/dominant or recessive. Autosomal trait is the trait which is due to genes present on autosomes whereas sex linked traits or allosomal trait is due to genes present on sex chromosomes. By studying the pattern followed by autosomal and allosomal traits passing through generation it is possible to determine if the trait is autosomal or sex linked.
