Question

BIO 190 Lab

Fast plant Experiment over 21 days, record height in cm on day 3, 7, 14, and 21.

Control= growing a plant using only regular water

experiment= using a 0.175% salt solution

Results:

Day 3 control= 1.2 cm 0.175%= 0 cm percent difference = -100%

Day 7 control= 5 cm 0.175%= 2.3 percent difference= -117.2

Day 14 control= 5.6 cm 0.175%= 3.3 cm percent difference= -69.69%

Day 21 control= 6.4 cm 0.175%= 3.9 cm percent difference= -64.1%

I need to make a scatter plot graph using this data. The bottom of the graph will be the days and the side values would be the height. They need to be a scatter plot showing the growth of each line and include the p-values. I will attach a picture as an example of what it should look like.

Answer #1

Okay, your plot is this one:

Plant growth across time with different water resources 8 y = 0.2472x + 1.7695 R2 = 0.7229 Growth (cm) 4. Y = 0.1977x +0.1503

Excel is an excellent tool to make this graphs, you just have to insert the data and chose the right plot. A trend line with equation and R2 value can be added if you require it (like in this casef).

Note that your experimental treatment decreased plant growth compared to just regular water. Salinity ended up decreasing growth.

It is fixed at one end and stretched between that end and a pulley, two points that are 159.6 t0.05 cm apart, by hanging a mass of 200.0 t0.1 g. When the string is removed from the hanging mass, that portion of the string that was between the two fixed points is 145.0 t0.05 cm. From the above information...

    Excel Lab 2: Regression and Goal Seek In this lab, you will use Excel to determine the equation of the model which best fits a set of ordered pairs obtained from data sets. You will enter data, graph the data, find the equation for the regression model, and then use that equation to make predictions for the dependent variable. You will use the goal seek to make predictions for the independent variable. Then you will consider how accurate your predictions...
