v = sqrt ( vx2 + vy2 )

where vx = vo = 5.90 m/s

vy = voy - gt

as voy = 0

so,

vy = - gt

so,

23.1 = sqrt ( vx2 + vy2 )

squaring both sides, we have

533.61 = vx2 + vy2

533.61 = 5.902 + ( -gt)2

498.8 = 96.04 * t2

t = 2.278 seconds

so,

h = 1/2 * g * t2

h = 25.44 meters
