Sustained attention is the ability to have focus on something for a longer period of time. It is the ability which makes concentration possible. Inspite of other distractions, or say, various stimuli putting effects on body, the body is able to focus on one thing without getting distracted. This is a very important cognitive skill which let a student finish things very efficiently.
Examples of sustained attention :
1. Students have to focus and concentrate completely in classroom while studying or at home. Poor focus can lead to poor results or grades.
2. Most jobs require lots of concentration such as Shooting players ( shooting is all about attention and focus), Pilots flying a plane, Drivers while driving cars or trucks, they have to constantly keep their eye on road for longer time otherwise accidents can occur.
Problems and disorders related to poor sustained attention : these may occur due to lack of sleep, fatigue or stress or other pathophysiological condition. Attention deficit hyper active attention disorder is most common ( ADHD). Attention disorders may also be present in Alzheimer's disease, dyslexia or schizophrenia.
Sustainability is: a. the combination of environmental and social performance b. the ability to sustain economic prosperity through long term relationships with key suppliers c. the ability to sustain long term bottom line growth with a stable supply base d. a supply base that meets requirements and protects the natural environment
