1. A founder effect is a process in which some individual of a population deviate from the original population and travel to a different location and populates that area and form a new population. In the bottleneck affect a large population is destroyed by natural calamity leaving a small population behind. In natural selection, a gene that can adapt to the changing environment is flourished and the remaining genes are extinct. As we can see that some birds deviate and lands on a new island to populate that area. So this is a founder effect.
