Answer #1

Negotiation cannot be successful if either of the parties is rigid. For negotiation to conclude positively, both the parties must be willing to compromise in order to resolve the matter at the earliest and move on-to executing their plans. Being flexible and quick at thinking, helps an individual to analyse the situation clearly and in detail such that they understand how the matter can be resolved and how to achieve a win-win situation.

However, a rigid individual would not budge or be ready to compromise. This attitude often de-motivates and alienates the other party, who inturn become rigid and are not ready to compromise. Resolving the issue becomes almost impossible in such a firm, unbending situation.
