And t test are used for checking significance of population mean. Also used for testing significance of diffrence in means.

Here we have check whether young adults in city is related to number of burglaries incity or not.

That is we have to check correlation between number of young adults in the city and number of burglaries in the city

So Pearson r correlation is used.
