Answer #1

Answer: Options B, D E, and F is the correct options

Explanation for correct options

B. In a membrane, the lipid can rotate and shift or move laterally inside a monolayer is known as flip-flop movement which is rarely occurring events.

D.  Cholesterol is an important constituent of animal cell membrane which is responsible for maintaining the rigidity and fluidity in the animal cell.

F.  Transmembrane proteins are amphipathic in nature having both hydrophobic and hydrophilic region. The hydrophobic regions of move through the membrane and interact in the interior of the bilayer with the hydrophobic tails of the lipid molecules, where they are uninhabited or sequestered away from water. The hydrophilic region of this transmembrane protein on either side of the cell membrane are exposed to water.

E. Phospholipids will not spontaneously form liposomes in a nonpolar solvents. Liposome formation takes place in an aqueous solution.

1.) Which of the following statement best describes how bacteria in a hot spring control the fluidity of their plasma membrane? They decrease the percentage of lipids with unsaturated hydrocarbon chains in their plasma membrane Because they don't synthesize cholesterol, they cannot control membrane fluidity and therefore have a very fluid plasma membrane. They use cholesterol to prevent membranes from becoming too fluid. They form lipid rafts to prevent too much fluidity They increase the percentage of lipids with unsaturated...
