The expected value of random variable X is

E(X)=\sum_{i=1}^{n}x_{i}\,*\,p(x_{i})

\Rightarrow E(X)=-4*0.3+3*0.5+4*0.2

=-1.2+1.5+0.8

  =1.1

\therefore Expected value is E(X) is 1.1
