Micronutrients are those group of nutrients that our body needs.and includes, vitamins and minerals. To retain micronutrients follow the tips;

  • keep skins on when possible
  • try to choose steaming rather than over boiling
  • avoid continuous reheating of the food
  • use minimum amount of liquid while cooking
  • when you boil any foods, keep thosenwater for the future use.
  • always reduce the cooking time so that more amount of nutrients can be preserved.
  • try to reduce the surface area of the food that is exposed.
  • while storing foods, always store properly.like putting food stuffs in airtight containers
  • keep green leaf vegetables and other vegetables in the crisper section of the refrigertaor
  • try scrubbing the vegetables while washing rather than peeling them.
