Answer #1

B. 1. the type of inter atomic forces is covalent force that is covalent bond between the atoms of carbon and hydrogen.

2. The intermolecular forces between the atoms of hexane is dispersion forces.

-H Dispersion I-0-I I-0-I C-H I-0-I I-0-I I-0-I I-0-I I-0-I I-0-I I-0-I I-0-I H-C I-0-I I-0-I H-C

3. Hexane is not a good conductor of electricity e because it is not polar in nature and also it does not ionizes and water to give ions and to be a good conductor of electricity we need ions.

4. Another substance that will behave the same way as hexane is pentane or heptane. They are the same member of homologus series of alkanes

Purpose: To calculate the amount of AgNO3 present in an unknown solution of water through the process of gravimetric analysis with NaCl.   Background: Have you ever had difficulty lathering soap or find that the scum in your shower constantly needs to be removed? These are signs of “hard water.” Soap does not lather well in hard water because metal ions, such as Ca2+, form precipitates, creating “soap scum.” A precipitate is an insoluble compound that forms when soluble ions in...

The Grignard reagent will then react with methyl benzoate to form triphenylmethanol. Introduction Grignard reagents, such as organomagnesium halides, were discovered in 1910 by French chemist Victor Grignard. The Grignard reaction is one of the most general methods for carbon- carbon bond formation in all of organic chemistry....
