Answer #1

Incorrectly matched option is :

Identical alleles - Homologous.

Explanation: Corresponding loci on each paired chromosome is known as Homologous. Homologous alleses are the alleles that inhabit the homologous loci. They code for the same trait even if they contain different information. For example, one chromosome may have an allele that codes for blue eye color. The homologous allele on the second chromosome in the pair may code for brown eye color.

If a organism contains both same alleles they are known as Homozygous alleses .

Why others are correctly matched:

Physical expression of a trait - phenotype:

Observable physical properties of an organism is known as phenotype. Phenotypes depend on the genotype of the organism.

Alleles whose expression can be masked by alternate alleles- recessive allele.

Recessive allele is a gene whose effect is not expressed unless it is present as a homozygous form in the individual. In heterozygous individual the dominant allele masks the trait of recessive allele. So the recessive traits can't be expressed.

Allele that masks expression of alternate allele - dominant allele:

The dominant allele is a gene which produces its effect though there is presence of another recessive allele. Dominant allele doesn't have to be in a homozygous form to express its trait.

People sometimes suggest that certain traits “skip a generation.” Which of the following is the best biological explanation for this saying? A A parent with two dominant alleles occasionally does not pass on an allele. B A recessive trait is sometimes masked in the F1 generation but reappears in the F2 generation. This is because of the law of segregation. C The law of independent assortment means that certain traits can be masked by a dominant allele but be phenotypically...

1.Certain characteristics, like coat color in many animals, is influenced by multiple genes. The phenomenon during which the presence of a homozygous recessive genotype at one locus "overrides" or masks the phenotype that would otherwise be produced by the alleles at another locus (regardless of whether they are dominant or recessive) is called: pleiotropy codominance Punnett effect recessive Epistasis 2. Which of the following would be considered a pleiotropic gene? A gene that-along with several others-influences a single phenotype, such...
