sample mean (T) = 30.3

population sd (\sigma) = 1

hypothesis:-

H_{0}:\mu=30

H_{1}:\mu>30

the test statistic be:-

Z=\frac{\bar{x}-\mu}{\sigma/\sqrt{n}}=\frac{30.3-30}{1/\sqrt{42}}\approx \mathbf{1.9442}

the p value is :-

=P(Z>1.9442)

=1-P(Z<1.9442)

=1-\Phi(1.9442)

=1-0.9741 [ in any blank cell of excel type =NORMSDIST(1.9442) ]

=\mathbf{0.0259}

decision:-

p value = 0.0259 < 0.1 (alpha)

we reject the null hypothesis. There is enough evidence to support Chris claim.
