Space time: it is time taken to process 1 Volume of reactor for the given feed condition.

Holding time : it is the time taken by a particle in a reactor, doesn't depend on the feed condition.

The plug flow reactor takes less time as compare to MFR for the given reaction (having positive order)

The PFR is good to get intermediate products where MFR is best if intermediate products is undesired.

For the given conversion, volume required by PFR is much less than Volume taken by MFR( as u can see in the above solution).

For for cost effective design, PFR is better option.
