One of the parents becoming widowed is the most common reason for co-residence of parents and their adult children who are between the ages of 18 to 31. Co-residence is one way that middle-aged offspring assist vulnerable, aging parents. This study investigated which characteristics of widowed mothers and adult children predict coresidence. When co-residence occured the analysis explored how individual children's characteristic were associated with their co-residence with the mother.
