Knowing how to analyze who your audience is, what the occasion calls for, and what the purpose of a speech is a process that is imperative before presenting information. For this assignment, you are going to prepare a written speech that you would deliver if you were asked to deliver the commencement address at your Rasmussen graduation. At the top of the written speech please identify who you believe will be in the audience, what a graduation speech calls for, and the purpose. Then write out a manuscript of the speech. The entire document should not exceed 2 pages and the speech should not exceed 10 minutes.
The audience would be parents of all students, relatives, friends, and all admin staff and teachers of the institution.
Graduation speech calls for thanking everyone in the institution and the purpose is to express sincere gratitude to all supporting people in helping the speaker achieve his degree.
Speech: Good evening and a hearty welcome to all parents,
relatives, my friends, and all teaching as well as non-teaching
faculties of this institution. Firstly, I would like to thank you
all for having spared your precious time attending this function.
Welcome to the graduation ceremony (year). I would like to
sincerely thank every one of you for giving me the entire support
throughout the course that has led me to stand here in front of you
with a degree in hand.
Education is one of the most important factors that every human
being must possess and yet although we live in the modern era, we
know that there are several of them who still hasn't procured a
degree due to countless reasons. However, I thank God and all of
you for making this possible. Completing this degree was never an
easy task for me as I thought it was when I joined the course. The
subject I have chosen was the one which was always of great
interest to me and before joining college, I always felt that it
would be easy for me to learn all aspects of this subject when I
join college due to the great passion and interest I possess.
However, the scenario was exactly opposite to what I thought. It
was really hard for me to accept the toughness of the subject and
even thought of quitting the course at a time. But it was my
parents, friends, and relatives who inspired me to continue. Later
on, I realized that several teachers were worthy of breaking down
subject issues into the simplest way possible. I thank all of them
at this moment as it was their guidance that made me understand the
subject from a mature level.
Non-teaching faculties were always of great help to me and I would
like to thank each of them for supporting my needs whenever
necessary. Lastly, I would like to convey a message to the students
preparing for graduation. The college you are currently present is
the best one and the teachers you have are gems. Utilize them to
the very best and witness the miracle you experience in your
education. Once again, thanks to all for joining the ceremony.
