Answer #1

(a)

note that distance is 2 times given as waves travels back and forth

so,

t = 2L / c = 5.933e-6 sec

\theta = 2\pi / 200 = 0.0314 rad

so,

w = \theta / t

w = 5295.116 rad/sec

___________________________

(b)

v = rw

v = 0.076 * 5295.116

v = 402.43 m/s

    The figure shows a method once used for measuring the speed of light. The method uses a spinning wheel with small slots around its rim. A beam of light passes through a slot at the edge of the wheel, travels to a distant mirror, and is reflected back to the wheel. If the wheel is turning at the correct angular speed, the returned light ray will arrive just in time to pass through the slot adjacent to the one it...

    please help! 2. Leon Foucault (French physicist) measured the speed of light with a rotating mirror in 1862. Albert Michelson (American physicist) refined Foucault's method to make a series of measurements over many years. His 1924 measurement was a major advance. The drawing shown below is a simplified description. SOURCE MIRRO TE LESCOPE OCTAGON AL RO ATING MIRROR Image of the source is seen in the telescope. When the mirror starts rotating, the image disappears. When the speed of rotation...

    29 In 1849, Fizeau carried out the first terrestrial measurement of the speed of light; previous measurements by Roemer and Bradley had involved astronomical observation. The figure shows a simplified conceptual representation of Fizeau's experiment. A ray of light from a bright source was directed through the teth at the edge of a spinning cogwheel. After traveling a distance L, it was reflected from a mirror and returned along the same path. The figure shows the case in which the...
