mean x2 = 43.8 , standard deviation s2 = 19.9 , n2 = 40

degree of freedom df = (n1+n2)-2 = (40+40)-2 = 78

we look into t table with df and with 90% confidence level

critical value t = 1.665

confidence interval formula

=> (x1-x2) +/- t * sqrt(s1^2/n1 + s2^2/n2)

=> (26.6-43.8) +/- 1.665 * sqrt((14.2^2/40) + (19.9^2/40))

=> (-23.64 , -10.76)
