1. At the time of the Conquest, New France was more than 150 years old, which is older than modern Canada. It had a French population of about 85.000 when Britain took it over and made it a part of the British Empire. All things considered, was that a large number? Explain. Can you draw any conclusions related to that number? Comment.

New France was already 150 years old and the population was 85,000. The British took the land and made a part of the British empire. So all considered this place had a huge number of people based on the population of the day and was 150 years of history to its name. However, considering the past number to the one now in Quebec Canada is of no consequence if seen in the modern-day but in those times it must have been huge. This number of those days was huge which may not seem to be as it is been shown on the day of the Quebec population.

However, based on the number the conclusion can’t be drawn bout the number. Since the place had a population of 85,000 making the density and its old past all considering together was not a policy well adopted. The people had no say in such sharing so the decision was partly made based on the old ways of land sharing during the conquering years. Hence no such concrete conclusion of what should have been done can’t be commented upon based on the history but for the New France of those days.
