Answer #1

The course material covered in these 7 weeks gave me a comprehensive and intensive amount of information and knowledge about the strategic decision making which can help the organization in creating a positive long term impact and provide sustainable results. The most compelling aspect during the course for me was the utilising of various methods for fostering creativity to make the management think out of box such as using brainstorming, delphi method, sensitivity analysis etc. The "ah ha" moment for me during the course was coming across the significance of right decision making which plays integral role in determining the success or failure of business. I learnt that most effective way of decision making is through aligning the organisational objectives and goals with the s alternative analysis for making the right choice which will support and assit in accomplishing the strategic vision.

The topic which made the most impact on my management and decision making development was the capabilities and qualities of management that ate necessary for making right decision which involved problem solving skills, risk bearing attitude, internal locus of control, etc which support in making decisions in accordance to the company's goals or mission. The role strategies vision and mission helped me gain insights about how to develop decisiveness. Topics such as the ; programmed and un-programmed decisions, Bounded rationality, decision making conditions etc helped me gain more insights about the process of strategic decision making and helped me expand my frame of reference through helping me to develop a better trade off between alternatives. The wide amount of information and knowledge which belonged to different aspects of decision making helped me expand my frame of reference through highlighting the various important key considerations which should be beared in mind before making any key decision.

I prefer to operate in a learning organization where self driven attitude is valued and freedom for self management is allowed. A learning organization provides more scope for growing as it promotes independence, creativity and innovation in comparison to the traditional setting which LA is down a rigid framework or regulations under which employees have to operate. I would love to work in a more flexible environment as provides by a learning organization where employees can have enough discretion and freedom in working in desired manner and changing the work methods as per the preference. Learning organization is more accommodative to changes and dynamics of environment this stays up to date in comparison to the rigid traditional setting where employees have to operate under rules and regulations and maintain a specific status quo.

Write a reflective paragraph summarizing your thoughts. Organizational change research has been criticized for neglecting the role of history in the study of change (Pettigrew et al., 2001). Much of the existing research tends to treat organizational change as “episodic” and comprising of independent events (Pettigrew, 1987, p. 655). More generally, research in organizational behavior has tended to ignore the theoretical and methodological significance of context in the examination of work attitudes and outcomes (Johns, 2006). In the studies reported...
