The same

Neutral means the same amount of negative and positive charges to make it neutral. Since if an atom is neutral it will have the same amount of electron and proton. Let's say if they have 26 protons then the electrons will be also 26. The overall charge on them will be Zero.

And its atomic number is also equal to the number of protons in the nucleus of the atom.
