microwave makes a distinctive "ding" noise when it is done cooking.

This theory (classical conditioning) is propagated by Ivan Pavlov. He did an experiment on his dog as happened to Esmeralda. She is conditioned to respond to the stimuli- food. As soon as the bell rings, she becomes alert and the mouth watering becomes the conditioned response. The bell act as an unconditioned stimulus as it doesn't ring at fixed time intervals. The food act as a conditioned stimulus because it is fixed reward for which the person does an action.
2. False.
Operant conditioning is totally opposite to Classical conditioning.

B. Under classical conditioning, the response can be involuntary while in operant conditioning a voluntary behaviour and a consequence is present.
