Answer #1

\\\\f(t)=868(1.099)^t

a) For the year 2010 , t = 10 . Then

\\\\f(t)=868(1.099)^{10} \\\\f(t)=2230.9849 \\\\f(t)\approx 2231

The amount of production in 2010 was 2231 million barrels.

b) For the year 2020 , t =20 . Then

\\\\f(t)=868(1.099)^{20} \\\\f(t)=5734.2097 \\\\f(t)\approx 5734

If the trend continues, the amount of production in 2020 will be 5734 million barrels.

Suppose that a country imports 2 billion barrels of crude oil per year and domestically produces another 4 billion barrels of crude oil per year. All the domestic production is consumed by domestic consumers (i.e. there are no exportations). The world price of crude oil is $80 per barrel. Assuming linear demand and supply schedules, economists estimate the price elasticity of domestic supply to be 0.3 and the price elasticity of domestic demand to be -0.15 at the current equilibrium....

There are two oil-producing countries: A and B. Each can choose their own level of oil production: low L or high H. At low production, a country produces 2 million barrels of oil per month, while at high production, a country produces 4 million barrels of oil per month. Costs of production for A are $8 per barrel; for B, $16 per barrel The price of oil each month depends on the total output from these two countries onto the...

U.S. crude oil and natural gas production increased in 2018, with 10% fewer wells 2/3/2020 WASHINGTON - In 2018, while production was increasing, the total number of wells producing crude oil and natural gas in the United States fell to 982,000, down from a peak of 1,035,000 wells in 2014. This increase in production, despite the decline in the number of wells, reflects advances in technology and drilling techniques.
