Answer #1

Short Answer Questions:

Humanistic theories sound most correct to me out of these three theories or approaches.

Following are the reasons for this:

(1)Humanistic theories and approaches rose to prominence in the mid-20th century in answer to the limitations of Sigmund Freud's psychoanalytic theory and B. F. Skinner's behaviorism.

(2)Humanistic theories offer a new set of values for approaching an understanding of human nature and the human condition.

(3)Humanistic theories offer an expanded horizon of methods of inquiry in the study of human behavior. For example: Hierarchy of Needs theory proposed by Abraham Maslow defined how an individual reaches from physiological needs level to the level of self actualization & this approach of Maslow is quite scientific as well as self explanatory.

(4)Humanistic theories offer a broader range of more effective methods in the professional practice of psychotherapy.
