Answer #1

N = N0e-kt where k = ln(2) / t1/2

Given: N0 = 3000 atoms; t1/2 = 4.5 sec; t = 9 sec

=> N = (3000)e-(ln(2) /4.5)*9

=> N = (3000)e-2ln(2) = (3000)e-ln(4) = 3000/4 =750 atoms.

Therefore, atoms left after 9 seconds = 750 atoms.

The kettle was the first on the market to have a reliability system enabling it to turn itself off at the exact moment when the water had boiled. It is also light enough to be carried easily, looked modern and was quite robust. From a manufacturing point of view, the kettle consisted of pressed stainless steel body...

    Honest Tea Plus Coca-Cola Equals National Distribution When Seth Goldman and Barry Nalebuff cofounded Honest Tea in 1998, their idea was to “democratize organics.” The two met when Nalebuff was Goldman’s professor at Yale University’s School of Management. A few years later, Goldman recognized an opportunity to market a distinctly different, healthy, bottled beverage made with organic ingredients, and he teamed up with Nalebuff to form Maryland-based Honest Tea. The entrepreneurs decided on tea because it has widespread appeal, and...

    A cell's genome is its blueprint for life. However, what is the bare minimum number of genes needed to sustain a free-living cell? This is a question that microbiologists at the J. Craig Venter Institute (JCVI) have attempted to answer ever since they sequenced the genomes of several Mycoplasma species in the 1990s. Because Mycoplasma species are parasitic bacteria, their genomes are already reduced in size and hence provide an excellent foundation for creating a "minimal cell." However, little did...
