Yes from the graph we can make observation as follows:-
1. From the first graph y vs x
y=1/4 x^2 which is a non linear equation represent a parabola
2. From the second graph y vs x^2
Let us say x^2=z
Then y=1/4 z which is linear graph and it is verified by the graph.
Slope of this line is 1/4.
Hence your answer is correct for this graph.
4. Now what do we mean by direct proportion?
We mean that if x increases y also increases and if x decreases ,y also decreases.
From two graphs we can actually check in both the cases if we increase the value of x then the value of y also increases.Hence y is directly proportional to x.
