a) As the Business Development Manager of a company, write a technical proposal on how a new product or service that you intend to introduce into the market could benefit prospective clients. Note: The proposal should follow the standard for writing a technical document, illustrating your answer with a real case scenario.

b) Examine and explain with the use of examples how the study of group dynamics has impacted on your general perception and perspective of “self”.

Answer 1

a) The product our company is going to introduce to the market is an e-cigar. This product was an environment and human body friendly product which would give the customer the same experience as smoking a normal cigar. The greatest advantage of our e-cigar is that it does not have the nicotine content. The major reason which became the inspiration for this product was the fact that there are many people around the globe who are addicted to smoking and are smoking on higher level.

There was a research that I did as a part of my project for graduation which was on the impact of smoking on the younger population. And when I got into a much deeper part of my research, I came to know that smoking was not only having a negative impact on a specific age group or gender but this was a problem faced by almost everyone in the economy. Children under the age of 10 are also trying smoking at that age by getting inspired from the elder people and various scenes from the movies and series which have a greater influence.

So I understood the major problem behind this and was in my mind since then. This was how the whole idea for such a product came into my mind.

Later on after a long research and development activities, there was a product innovatively made which was able to give the same experience as the cigar without the nicotine content and using a lower addictive drug which did not have any side effects on the human body and organs.

The same was to be filled in the e-cigar using cartridges which either should be refilled or bought.

I hope and believe that this would bring a great difference in the population and thereby bringing a much better culture whereby people would use it and even if the younger population is using also won’t be harmful.

b) Group dynamics which is the psychological and behavior processes occurring within a social group. The study of this has impacted my general perception and perspective of self as now my personal and social/group identity. Group dynamics has helped me see the whole things in a wider way. And the major benefit was that there were various brainstorming sessions which helped me grab ideas from various people and learn from them how they are looking things. I also got to understand that behavior with people and how we convey the ideas to people would wholly make a difference. The acceptance and rejection of an idea would also depend on how we convey it within the group and how open we are to criticisms.

For example; I was working on a project looking for an idea, which was to develop a character for a script for my client. Despite of working on the same for many days I could not come up with a good idea and was always ending up making replicas of roadrunner and supersonic. Due to fear of patent and copyright issues, I was having a fear in presenting the same before my boss. Later I presented the same to my boss and I asked him to put some more people on my team. And we sat together working on the same and one of them put forth an idea as to do a research process and find a new character inspired from historically used animals for delivering the mails or any such as this character was meant for a delivery app running company.

And I understood that working in a group is better or always best than working on our own.
