A professor claims that only 35% of the students at Flora College work while attending school.  Dean Renata thinks that the professor has underestimated that number and conducts a survey to determine if they can use the 35% in their published literature.  The hypothesis test was conducted and the associated p-value for the test was: p-value = 0.15.   What type of error can occur in this situation?

Here the null hypothesis is H0:p=.35 and the alternative is H1:p>.35, p is the concerned true proportion

Since p value is .15, which is more than the standard 5% or 1% level, we fail to reject the null hypothesis. Thus the error must be of accepting the null when it is false. Thus error committed must be type II error.  That is accepting p=.35 when in fact p is more.
