Management brings efficiency and effectiveness to the organizations . The role of leader comes under the step of leading in management. Leaders through different style of leadership can motivate and direct the employees / followers for the accomplishment of organizational goals.
Leadership is a process in which people through their personality and behavior attract many followers for them. It helps them to build his speech with more confidence against the challenges within and outside the organization.
Management development is a process of making people ready for future challenges to accept. It is a process in which leaders can be given a rigorous training that how they will handle the actual problem in upcoming days. Many top organization has evolved many methods to win the race of competition by enriching their people's involvement in leadership roles.
There are many type of leadership which may be give influence on the organization. We can describe them as follows,
1) Autocratic leadership : One man organization can be categorized under this heading . A leader who only give direction to others , he never accept others ideas and thoughts . He forcefully assign the responsibilities on others. He doesn't care that what will be his image on others view. He will be a dictator in to some extent. His order will be supreme otherwise , he will take serious actions against all the person's.
2) Democratic or participative leadership :
In this style of leadership, a people will believe in their subordinates . He will take all the major decisions with the helps of people's participation. These leaders are followed by all the employees.
3) Charasmatic leaders: These leaders will have special charm and attraction towards their followers. The followers base will have strong in number.
4) Visionary leadership : These leaders can forecast the future of an organization in advance. They set strategic direction for the organization.
5) Transactional leadership: In this , people can be much stressed to target oriented. Leaders might try to achieve more and more in less time.
6) Transformational leaders:
They implement major change in the organization. They always try to get things with achieving the efficiency and with a cordial approach.
Organizational strategies for management and development prcatices:
The success of any product or service based organization will be depend on its leadership development. The role of top management and hence the CEO of an organization is quite challenging to manage the people, customer and corporate clients.
A visionary leader will set the long term sustainable goals for the organization. In this , he will formulate mission , vision and direct other people to set the operational goals.
An effective organizational leadership means, it will focus to strengthen the core activities of the organizations by formulating the strategies for the whole organization,
1) Organizational strategies will be helpful to determine the appropriate structure for the people. It will also define the success of an organization.
2) The human resource management policy will be focus to strengthen the policies regarding employment , employee relations, training and development needs, salary and wage administration etc. In this strategic advantage of people might be adopted.
3) In the sales and marketing strategies , product positioning, targeting the niche markets , segmenting the customers, best CRM practices , market development etc. will be initiated by the marketing leaders.
4) The research and innovation leaders will set creative objectives for the organization . It may be described in terms of new product development , improvement of business model , improving the technological needs.
5) The operational and project leaders will carry out the activities related to setting out standard for the quality conscious offerings, investment management for different portfolios etc.
