Answer #1
Concepts and reason

Principal quantum number (n) determines the overall size and energy of an orbital.

Azimuthal quantum number (l) describes the shape of the atomic orbital. The value of l depends on the value of n. It does not depend on the number of electrons.

Spin quantum number () specifies the orientation of the spin of the electron.

Magnetic quantum number () specifies the orientation of the electron.

First identify the highlighted blocks whether they belong to s, p , d or f and then label the quantum numbers.

Fundamentals

In the periodic table, there are four blocks, corresponding to the filling of four quantum sublevels (s, p, d and f ).

The first two columns in the periodic table belong to s block.

The six columns on the right side of the periodic table belong to p block.

The transition elements are in the middle of s and p block. They belongs d block.

Lanthanide and actinides belong to f block. They are presented below the d block elements.

The periodic table is as follows:

d block
p block
s block
p block
f block

The value of n is 4 and the value of l is 0.

Top right: The value of n is 2 and the value of l is 1.

Bottom right: The value of n is 6 and l is 1.

The value of n is 6 and the value of l is 2.

The value of n is 4 and the value of l is 3.

Ans:

The quantum numbers are labelled as follows:

n=
