1. No, the primary purpose of expert will change according to the case and is not only to facilitate a settlement. It is true in cases which involve divorce whether personal or business.

2.The benefits of settlement are :

a)Parties have agreed to the terms mutually.

b)Involvement by both parties ensures likeliness of settlement to hold.

c)Costs are less as compared to the cases which do not settle.  

3. The voir dire process refers to corroboration which sets an expert's qualifications.

Expert should be qualified through knowledge, skill, training, education, or a combination of factors including competenancy in subject matter.After basic questioning, a voir dire should check detailed aspects of expert’s specialty like any specialized knowledge of sub-topics, additional degrees, licenses, or training, etc.
