Specific environmental issues and their impact on development and sale of electric vehicles are:

1) Batteries : The Electric vehicles are run on the electric batteries. The batteries are made of the rare-earth elements such as, lanthanum, dysprosium, terbium and neodymium. More batteries induce heavy consumption of the other environment scarce and critical metals like lithium and cobalt. Though the metals are in abundance in earth crust but their extraction is costly.

2) Car Tiring off : The environment is being affected by the Cars tiring off in short period and tyres shows more wear and tear in short span increasing the rubber environmental pollution due to heavy load of the batteries.

3) High usage of vehicles and additional travelling : The low fuel cost, less operating and maintenance expenses are inducing people to have additional travel and excessive use of the vehicles, which put more pollution in the environment.
