Answer #1

Calculate Total Forecast Demand :-

= 1200 + 1300 + 800 + 700 + 700 + 900

= 5600 units

Opening Inventory = 500 units

Ending Inventory = 100 units

Calaculation of Total Production :-

Total Production = Total Forecast Demand + Ending Inventory - Opening Inventory

= 5600 + 100 - 500

= 5200 units

Total Working Days = 20 + 22 + 20 + 20 + 18 + 19 = 119 days

Average Daily Production = Total Production / Total Working Days

= 5200 units / 119 days

= 43.70 units

Calculation Monthly Production :-

Monthly Production = Average Daily Production * No. of Working Days

Months January February Mar April May June
Working Days (A) 20 22 20 20 18 19
Average Daily Production (B) 43.70 units 43.70 units 43.70 units 43.70 units 43.70 units 43.70 units
Monthly Production (A*B) 874 units 961.4 units 874 units 874 units 786.6 units 830.3 units

Calculation Ending Inventory of Each Month :-

Ending Inventory = Opening Inventory + Production - Forecast Demand

Months January February Mar April May June
Opening Balance 500 units 174 units -164.6 units -90.6 units 83.4 units 170 units
Add : Production 874 units 961.4 units 874 units 874 units 786.6 units 830.3 units
Less : Forecast Demand 1200 units 1300 units 800 units 700 units 700 units 900 units
Ending Balance 174 units -164.6 units -90.6 units 83.4 units 170 units 100.3 units
