This isn't a question to answer it's more of how do I determine this. I was recently learning ABR<CBR or ABE<CBE I wanted to know how do you determine where the greater than and less than sign go towards?

First point is that the open side in the sign is the greater than side and the closed side is the less than side.

As we are reading from left to right, we should consider the first side of the sign to determine whether it is greater than or less than.

The symbol for greater than is >

The symbol for less than is <

For example : In the question , ABR < CBR

This is read as ABR less than CBR. That is ; closed side of the sign is the less than side.

There are only two possibilities. Let's take two variables A and B as examples.

1) A < B which means :

: A is less than B

At the same time it can be read as

: B is greater than A

2) A > B which means :

: A is greater than B

At the same time it can be read as

: B is less than A
