Answer #1

Hydrolysis of ATP :-

ATP + H2O -----> ADP + Pi + 30.5 kJ/mol

Adinosine triphosphate (ATP) is hydrolysed to Adenosine diphosphate (ADP) and Inorganic phosphate (Pi) ATP means adenesine triphosphate. g contain 3 bhosphate groups and adenosine molecule The equation will be : ATP + HO ADP + P with liberation of 30.5 kJ / mol of energy . It is an exothermic reaction .

Hydrolysis of ADP:-

ADP + H2O ----> AMP + Pi + 30.5 kj/mol

Hydrolysis of Adenosine diphosphate (ADP) results in formation of Adenosine mono-phosphate (AMP) + inorganic phosphate (Pi) and librate energy equal to 30.5 kJ/mol . It is also an exothermic reaction.

    3. (4 pts) Living organisms use energy from the metabolism of food to create an energy-rich molecule called adenosine triphosphate (ATP). The ATP then acts as an energy source for a variety of reactions that in living organisms must carry out to survive. ATP provides energy through its hydrolysis, which can be symbolized as follows: ATP(aq) + H2O(l) → ADP(aq) + Pin(aq) &Gorun =-30.5 kJ where ADP represents adenosine diphosphate and Pm represents an inorganic phosphate group (e.g., HPO,). The value of the standard free energy (∆G°’) for the hydrolysis of ATP (ATP + H2O -> ADP + Pi) is relatively difficult to determine because of the small concentration of ATP remaining at equilibrium. The value can be determined from the equilibrium constant of two related chemical reactions. Adenosine triphosphate (ATP) is the main \"energy currency\" used in cells. ATP hydrolysis is coupled with unfavorable reactions, making the net change in energy for the set of reactions less than zero (favorable). Although ATP is the main energy currency, other molecules, such as acetyl-CoA can fulfill this role and take part in coupled reactions. Which of the following groups are present in acetyl-CoA? Select five groups.

    Adenosine triphophste, ATP, is used to store energy within biological systems. It releases that energy by losing a terminal phosphate group, Pi, to form adenosine diphophate, ADP, through the hydrolysis reaction. The standard reaction Gibbs energy for hydrolysis of ATP to ADP is + 10 kJ mol at 298K. This assumes that the concentration of hydrogen ions is 1 mol/ L. a) In biochemistry, it is common practice to assume an alternative, and more realistic, standard state for pH=7. What...
