Answer #1

a:- The Departmentalization looks like productbased department. In this heirarchy starts with CEO and he has direct reportees who are heads of all important functions. Evey product group reports to the chief of every functions such as finance, marketing, research and development etc. The advantage is the company can focus on each product group abd creates seperate strategy for each product. The disadvantages are interconnection between product team will be less, lack of conordination of different product group will be there. This creates communication barrier and also results in more cost due to differentiated budgeting requirements.

B:-The major span of control of CEO is with all important functionalities such as marketing, engineering, research and development, purchasing etc Thus CEO has control over all vital departments directly which helps in taking quick decisions.
