Answer #1

a. The exact time taken to evaluate 27+27
continuous random variable

The time can take any value with decimal, it can be 1.2 seconds or 2.2 seconds, hence it is a continuous variable.

b. The number of bald eagles in a country
discrete random variable

We can have a whole number here because we cannot count half or fraction of an eagle.

c. THey eye colur of people on commercial fights.
discrete random variable

In this case eye colour can be black, blue, pink, brown. the person can take only one value. Therefore it is discrete. If we represent each eye colour with number, we get a discrete random variable.

d. The time it takes to fly from City A to City B
continuous random variable
The time can take any value with decimal, it can be 1.2 seconds or 2.2 seconds, hence it is a continuous variable.

e. the number of people in a restaurant that has a capacity of 200
discrete random variable

We can have a whole number here because we cannot count half or fraction of a person.

f. The number of points scored during a basketball game.

discrete random variable

We can have a whole number here because we cannot count half or fraction of an basket point.
