Outline the basic principles of modern electronic cell counters, i.e. methods of cell sizing and differentiation.

Principles are as follows:-

• coulter principle:- ths principle is also called electical impedance method. It states that cell counting and sizing is based on changes in the elecrical resistance produced by blood cells
• light scattering principle:- it is based on the principle that number of impulses generated when light is scattered is proportional to number of cells that passes through the beam of laser light during a specific period of time
• flow cytometry:- using this principle a beam of light with a single wavelength is directed onto a stream of blood which is hydrodynamically focused
