A 500 gram green ball on an air track is attached to a compressed spring (at x=0 the spring is unstretched). Determine the amplitude, frequency, period and spring constant (assume v=0 at the beginning and end of the animation). There is an animation that can be paused to give certain x and y values during a specific time. I know I can't attach the animation so I just want to know how I would find the amplitude, frequency etc for this problem.
MASS = 500 gm = 0.5 Kg
k*x = m*g
=> X = m*g / K = 0.5*9.8 / k
= 4.9 / k -----------------> AMPLITUDE
=> TIME PERIOD FOR A SPRING MASS SYSTEM IS GIVEN BY
hence T = 2PI * sqrt (0.5/k)
= 4.44 / sqrt(k)
Since f (frequency) = 1/T
=> f = 1/ T = sqrt(k)/ 4. 44

An air-track glider is attached to a spring. The glider is pulled to the right and released from rest at t = 0 s. It then oscillates with a period of 1.5 s and a maximum speed of 32 cm/s . Find the amplitude and find the glider's position at t=27? I have the amplitude as 7.6 cm, which is correct. I have x=-2.9 cm for the position, but I'm getting it wrong. I did x = 7.6 * cos...

An air-track glider is attached to a spring. The glider is pulled to the right and released from rest at t=0 s. It then oscillates with a period of 1.60 s and a maximum speed of 40.0 cm/s . I found the amplitude to be 10.2 cm. What is the glider's position at t= 0.200 s ?
An air-track glider is attached to a spring. The glider is pulled to the right and released from rest at t=0 s. It then oscillates with a period of 1.60 s and a maximum speed of 52.0 cm/s. I got the amplitude of the oscillation to be 13.2 cm. What is the glider's position at t=0.200s?
