Answer #1

Interphase: The interphase stage is composed of S phase, G1 phase, and G2 phase. The S phase is characterized by the replication of DNA. Thus, interphase can be matched to DNA is replicating.

Prophase: Prophase is the foremost stage of mitosis and occurs before metaphase. In this phase, nuclear membrane disappears because of the action of mitotic kinases. Moreover, centrioles also readily produce spindles, which access the chromosomes. Thus, prophase can be matched to nuclear membrane is beginning to dissolve while the centrioles are making their way to opposite poles.

Metaphase: In metaphase, condensed chromosomes are aligned towards the center of a cell across the metaphase plate. Thus, metaphase can be matched to chromosomes lineup at the center of the cell.

Anaphase: Anaphase follows metaphase and is characterized by the separation of sister chromatids and movement of chromosomes towards the poles of the cell. Thus, anaphase can be matched to spindle fibers continue to pull the cell towards the opposite poles of the cell.

Telophase: This is the terminal stage of mitosis and is characterized by the reappearance of nuclear membrane across the daughter nuclei. This stage is generally followed by cytokinesis. Thus, telophase can be most appropriately matched to cytokinesis occurs and nuclear membrane reform.
