A 4.1 cm long insect is perpendicular to the optical axis of a thin lens; the bug is 5.7 cm away from the lens. The lens forms an inverted image of the insect which is 0.9 cm long on a screen behind the lens. (Use three significant figures.)

a. How far behind the lens is the screen?

b. What is the lens' focal length (pay attention to sign)? cm

c. If the insect were instead only 0.28 cm from the lens, what would the image distance be (pay attention to sign)? cm

d. Could the new image be projected on a screen? yes no possibly

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE Write out/work out the algebra with LCDs and everything, that is the main thing I am getting tripped up on. Please do not skip steps in the algebra please

An object placed 20 cm in front of a lens results in an image being formed 24 cm behind the lens. Each surface of the lens is convex (bulging away from the optical plane) with the same radius of curvature, and the index of refraction of the glass composing the lens is Tiens =1.4. What is the radius of curvature of either side of this lens (to the nearest tenth of a cm)? Note, once again, the focal length of...
