Genetics being the study of how biological information is stored, utilized and passed on from one generation to the next, give a summary of how the storage, accessing and passage of biological information occurs.

Genetic information is stored in the DNA which is the nucleus. The DNA is present on the chromosomes. The genetic information is passed from parent to their children when they reproduce. The reproduction is mainly of two types. First is asexual reproduction and second in sexual reproduction. In asexual reproduction, the same genetic information as parent have but in sexual reproduction, genetic information of both the parents are mix and resultant genetic information is passed to the children . The genetic information is stored in DNA into the chromosomes and one chromosomes from both parents is inherited in the offspring.
