The schematic microstructures of a hypoeuctectoid steel, eutectoid steel and hypereutectoid steel and the existing phases are shown below:

Hardness: When the carbon content is increased then the hardness is increased. Hyper eutectoid steel is having high carbon content than eutectoid steel and hypo eutectoid steel. Therefore Hyper eutectoid steel is having high hardness than eutectoid steel and hypo eutectoid steel. i.e Hyper eutectoid steel > eutectoid steel > Hypo eutectoid steel.

Strength: Hardness is directly proportional to strength so the hyper eutectoid steel is having high strength than eutectoid steel and hypo eutectoid steel. i.e Hyper eutectoid steel > eutectoid steel > Hypo eutectoid steel.

Ductility: Hardness is inversely proportional to ductility then hypo eutectoid steel is having high ductility than eutectoid steel and hyper eutectoid steel. i.e Hypo eutectoid steel > eutectoid steel > Hyper eutectoid steel.
