1. Product differentiation is where a company differentiates a product with it's unique features when compared to it's competitors or even products from it's own chain. For example a car manufacturer introduces a new car and uses it's mileage and engine capabilities to differentiate it from other cars in the market even from their own company is product differentiation. In the same way beauty products are marketed by user their special features and why we should use that product instead of it's competitor.

2. Services differentiation is where a company uses it's services to differentiate itself from competitors. For example renowed hotels or spas or salons advertise their unique services and hospitality features to attract customers by showing their uniqueness when compared to competitors.

3. Channels differentiation is where a company uses it's channels of distribution to differentiate itself from competitors. For example a renowed food manufacturer has it's own food outlets for people to try it's products and they are available in every city which would be it's point to differentiate itself from competitors.

4. People differentiation is where companies have experienced manpower who are specially trained when compared to competitors. Examples are companies like Google or Apple or any other top level companies who get their manpower from top institutes and makes it their advantage in marketing .

5. Image differentiation is where a company uses it's logo or any other factor which makes people recognise their company immediately to highlight itself from competitors. For example McDonalds has a logo which wouldbe recognised by people worldwide and the company can just use this as their marketing technique.
