  • There are a number of psychological as well as social contexts that help in explaining terrorism.
  • One of the most important factors in terrorism is the culture in which a person is brought up. Culture, rather than an entire country, could also be understood as the small group of individuals in which they spend most of their time.
  • These individuals undergo cultural devaluation,.
  • Also, these people gain a sense of community that is offered by the terrorist groups. This satisfies their significance quest.
  • Also, there is presence of a strong hierarchy which brings about authority and a respect for it.
  • These people feel more comfortable in the social structure that they are present in which would be promisingthwm a better life.

the motives and justifications are:

  • Moral justification: where people would be engaging in actions that provide them a proper purpose and goal
  • Additional disengagement practices: where they undergo dehumanisation, followed by displacement and diffusion of responbilities.
