Demand for use of the facility for each customer is Q=20-2P, where Q is visits per month and P is price per visit. Your marginal cost to provide the facility is zero. You can either charge each person an entry fee each time they come to the facility, or you can simply sell each person a monthly membership and allow them in for free whenever they decide to exercise. Calculate the profit (per customer) under each scheme. With which pricing scheme do you make the most money? Under which scheme is the welfare of society (least deadweight loss) the greatest?
