Answer #1

Homogeneity means looking for a common trait or background with which all can relate. Homogeneity ensures that the group has a strong formation base. For example ,same college ,background ,neighborhood etc. This is required to build a group.

While homogeneity is required, heterogeneity is bringing some people who are from different backgrounds or have different traits which are required for the growth of the group as well.

Homogeneity and heterogeneity binds together ,not in any specific ratio or manner ,to form a dynamic fo us group which stays and grows. So the answer would be to find a mix of both tin the participants.
