If I am using 40 mg of maleic anhydride (98.057 g/mol) and 80 mg of anthracene (178.234 g/mol), how would I calculate the theoretical yield in mmol and mg?

Also, how do I use this information to find my percent yield of the product?

Theoretical yield means if your reaction completely successful with your all the starting materials consumed totally, then how much product you have get. In such case you are getting 100% yield.

But in actual practice, you'll get some lower amount of product is obtained. This is actual yield.

% yield = actual yield /theoretical yield. * 100%. But you must put both the yield in same unit(either in mmol or in mg )Reaction Schime: esc Maleic Anhydsi dde) Antracone Moecula 98.057 78.23 276. 291 40 reaction 0 milimals.5 178 234 -0.4488 d.4438 -1.1 epuiv to 73 100% Crnvesǐn, 1.oequivalet Malac acid o Са So, 40 79 mm 0,4079 x 276 , 29 - 112.699 = 412. 699 m 276.291 % ield- Actual dield mmo x100 0.4079 mn 乂×0.8873 %
